Tall stories and grand adventures at the Discover Centre in Stratford

A couple of years ago I discovered the fantastic Discover Centre in Stratford,  a short walk from the tube and overground station. Describing itself as a ‘Children’s Story Centre’, the emphasis here is fun, fun and more fun. It’s a place parents and children can enjoy learning, reading, storytelling and playing – inside and out.

The whole place is filled with imagination and your children are guaranteed to come away having been on a wonderful adventure of their own creating. Inside, they’ll find a secret cave and climbing spaces, somewhere to have a tea party, listen to story recordings, play puppet theatres, dance over a musical wooden bridge and dress up. The outside is just as unique with a brilliant garden and play area where children can climb into a spaceship, make sounds, create hiding spaces and, all importantly, slide down a monster’s tongue!

With a simple but nice café to boot, a visit here makes for many hours well spent and I really cannot recommend it enough!
